Launched in 2021, Aleph Hospitality’s Innovation Lab was created to serve as a springboard for early-stage travel, tourism and hospitality startups. What we’ve learned is clear: early support is game-changing. To have an experienced team help navigate the crucial first stages of the entrepreneurial journey gives a major boost to budding businesses. Take our first mentee company, for example: an intuitive back-of-house operating software, designed to help restaurants automate their inventory and procurement process. Our mentee has already “graduated” from our Innovation Lab and is now rolling out operations in both Dubai and New York. Their journey was enriched through participation in major regional events such as the Future Hospitality Summit where they gained exposure to key industry players and investors. A notable milestone for our mentee was their shortlist participation in the StartupDen 2023 in Abu Dhabi. The complexities of the application and selection process provided a valuable learning experience which sharpened their value proposition, enhanced their pitching skills, and demonstrated the potential impact of their business idea. This case is just one example of how structured mentorship, access to platforms, and industry exposure can accelerate a startup’s trajectory and inject fresh thinking into the sector.
